I’m so grateful you’re here.

I’m Jocelyn—a queer speculative fiction and poetry writer from Denver, who is obsessed with how what we read can change us forever.

I founded Inked Harpoon to help other people who have the drive to create the story that speaks to them do the hardest thing in the lit world—finish.

That looks different for all of us—maybe that means finishing a draft, or editing one into a shape you like, or shining up the lines until you’re proud. Either way, here we are babes, let’s get cooking.

I specialize in all things messy—romance, horror, fantasy, and sci-fi with characters that make us want to be the best in ourselves or that show us the worst we can be. I believe that every story has a place and that each of us has a reason for telling what we are.

I know a ton of beautiful writers that call themselves “writing midwives,” which I LOVE—but I think of myself more as a mad scientist. Sometimes blowing the whole thing up will fix it (oops), other times it just needs a little electricity.

That’s the magic of writing. It can be anything, say anything, and still spear us right through the heart.
